Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) was established at NITI Aayog to transform the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem in the country. A major initiative of AIM is to set up a network of Atal Tinkering Laboratories (ATLs), which aims to cultivate as well as inculcate scientific temper. The spirit of curiosity and creativity in young minds. ATL provides an enabling environment for students to innovate through a ‘do it yourself’ approach. Labs will be equipped with state-of-the-art facilities.Machines and equipment like 3D printer and microcontroller to enhance the technical and innovation related skills of the students. They will help bring theoretical concepts to life and develop a range of skills, including skills related to design, computational thinking and physical computing.Because of the practical orientation of the approach, students will learn to “make,” which, in turn, can lead to real-world applications and the development of new ventures.
